Fred Sullivan is a member of the National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians and has been a music instrument repair specialist since 1973. Sullivan earned a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Arts Education, and trained under two master craftsman. For three years, he was an apprentice under Charles Unruh, Selmer Company’s first flute apprentice. In addition, Sullivan spent two years working at Desert Winds Music in Tempe, Arizona, and taught for four years in Arizona. He also worked in and/or managed instrument shops in Ohio and Kansas for a total of 25 years, before opening his own custom workshop in 2003: Lighthouse Music Services. For more than 35 years, Fred Sullivan has been servicing and repairing instruments for student, collegiate and professional clients across the United States. He is often sought out for his expertise in the repair field by other repair shops, and his instrument maintenance “Tips and Techniques” videos have been sent to universities, band directors and music stores all over the world. He is a long time member of NAPBIRT, and NAMM. Fred Enjoys teaching all age groups, He has been married for 34 years and has two grown girls. One married.
Lane is 22 years old and has over 8 years of experience being a guitar luthier in Winfield. He Is currently training under Fred Sullivan with repairing band instruments. Lane also teaches lessons on all stringed instruments, and has been for over 5 years. He is widely known as an accomplished bass guitar player in the Wichita area. Lane plays bass in his local church, and for other groups around Wichita, including the Music Scene house band. Lane has produced his own CD with his own music.
